2014 SPEEDAY RULES NOW POSTED
The rules for the Baer Field Speedway 2014 season are now posted!
Although the bulk of the Late Model, Modified, and Street Stock rules remained intact, there have been several changed made to the front wheel drive portion of the Mini Stock rules and a large overhaul of the rules for the Front Wheel Drive class.
A few of the changes will apply to all classes:
1) All cars must conform to a 95 decibel noise limit. This is both by the request of many of the fans and as a “good neighbor” gesture to the surrounding area.
2) RaceCeivers will be mandatory in all classes in 2014. These devices have been around for several years and have proved effective in passing information to driver both in the interest of safety and for speeding up the racing program.
3) Collapsible steering columns (stock or aftermarket) are now mandatory in all cars utilizing stock steering boxes.
The renovation of the Front Wheel Drive class is an effort to reign in costs and to return the class to what it was intended to be. Cars which are no longer eligible for that class will be able to move to the Mini Stock division with only minor modifications.
