2014 BAER FIELD POWER WHEELS CLASS Derby Rules:
SAFETY IS FIRST FOR THE POWER WHEELS CLASS FOR ALL CHILDREN!

2. Power Wheels Derby is for kids 4-8 years old. All kids MUST be accompanied by an adult and have a Minor Release form on file.

4. Stock tires only.
5. All power wheels must set like the store bought ones no raising or lowering the front or rear of the power wheels.
6. Stock battery can be replaced with a 12-volt mower battery only. It can be positioned anywhere inside the car and covered, not in the passenger seat.

11. Entries will close at 6:15. Derby will be held at 6:30 and will run for 10 minutes.

2013 was a great season for Baer Field Speedway and 2014 is shaping up to be even better!
More special events; a longer schedule; bigger payouts; a $10,000 points fund; and more track improvements have led to an increased buzz in the community and an influx of new cars. Even with adding 15 new spaces to rent at the south end of the pits, less than 30 reserved pit pads remain available!
One thing that will be different in 2014, is that EVERY car in the five weekly classes must pass a safety inspection before being allowed on the track.
THIS INCLUDES PRACTICE DAYS AND RACE NIGHTS!
Baer Field Speedway officials will inspect each car and, if they pass, issue a certification sticker to that car. NO CAR will be allowed on the track without it.
We have attached a copy of the sheet that the inspectors will be using, to show you what areas they’ll be checking. With your cooperation, it should take 2-5 minutes per car to complete.
Areas covered: Seat belts (no more than three years old); seat belt mounting points; drivers seat and seat mounts; a charged fire extinguisher; collapsible steering column (for cars that utilize a stock or aftermarket steering box); windshield and/or braces; window net; roll cage padding; door plate; firewall (steel & no holes); power-steering hose (must be high-pressure hose, no braided lines); throttle-return springs (minimum of 2); throttle clearance for air cleaner; fuel shut-off valve (if applicable); fuel pump kill switch (if applicable); wheel studs; and drive shaft hoop (if applicable).
We will also be looking at the following items of personal safety: Helmet (must see Snell rating); firesuit; gloves (flame-resistant); neck collar or head & neck restraint; and RaceCeiver.
This is a ONE TIME inspection per car for the season. We reserve the right to spot check certain items after your car is certified.
To ease the time crunch on opening night, Speedway inspectors have been going to local garages all week, looking at cars, and will continue to do so as long as there is demand. We will also have the tech crew there for all pre-season practices and will open the pit gate at NOON on opening night. Please have all items ready for inspection. Have hood and trunk pins removed; air cleaner loosened, belts presented, and all personal safety items with you.
PLEASE take advantage of these advance opportunities and PLEASE do not test us on this...YOU WILL NOT PRACTICE OR RACE UNTIL THE CAR PASSES!
Every single item on that list pertains to YOUR safety. We have been contacted by other tracks and series and have shared this form with them as they are interested in following our lead.

For sale is a front wheel drive racecar. It comes with the seat, net, roll cage, and seat cover already in it. The engine was swapped and is almost done, but it needs the coolant system and a couple other things hooked up. After that, it's ready to go!
