The historic 50^th Anniversary season for Fort Wayne’s Baer Field Speedway will be one of incredible contrasts. In a 2013 season that will see much looking back to the past, there will also be a number of firsts. One of those will be the first-ever chance for Baer Field fans to get out on the track and experience what’s it’s really like to be a racing driver, in real cars, on the same track where they watch the local heroes compete every weekend.

The “Rusty Wallace Racing Experience,” will give fans and aspiring racers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to realize the thrills and experience the sensations of real, full-size, CRA-type racing cars at speed. Participants will have a choice of a “ride-along” experience where they’re driven around the track at speed inside a two-seat stock car, or to take the wheel themselves and test the limits of their ability and bravery. And, they will be doing it on the very track where the future NASCAR Champion scored three big wins early in his career.

“The opportunity to create a personal adrenaline filled moment that few people will ever experience in their lifetime is something we aspire to at the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience,” said Wallace. “Our goal is to provide the novice to the most knowledgeable race fan with an authentic racing experience they will never forget. We like to say, that when you “Race with Rusty…its personal”, and it’s even more so with my personal history at Baer Field.”

The Rusty Wallace Racing Experience will visit Baer Field Saturday and Sunday, August 3 & 4, and then again the following Saturday and Sunday, August 10 & 11. Ride-Along Experiences are for ages 8 and up and vary from three to five laps. Baer Field Speedway will kick of its 50^th year of providing racing thrills to Fort Wayne with the “SEASON OPENER” featuring the HOSS Outlaw Winged Sprints and a full five-division program of stock cars on Saturday, May 11.
